	T H E C H A L L E N G E MedeVisions.com, a business unit of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, approached Health Catalyst with the vision of producing an eBusiness consisting of an online auction for medical equipment combined with medical equipment asset management services.



	T H E A P P R O A C H A vertical marketplace consisting of five integrated applications was developed. These five applications feature equipment sales through an online auction and product catalog, an asset management module to track equipment certifications, and a maintenance module for preventative maintenance scheduling. The buying process is completely integrated to Escrow.com, an intermediary in the sales process. XML technology automatically forwards pertinent buyer information to expedite sales. Soleil's Max-Bid Auction, a pre-built vertical business component, containing 70% of the functionality needed was implemented, thus helping MedeVisions meet its critical time-to-market objectives.
